“Loved the place!” customers Kb Lodge
Worldtripper15 – India – February 2020

Came here late in afternoon for lunch after walking the fort and Havelis all morning. Saw the place from rooftop of Patwaon ki Haveli and looked inviting. It did not disappoint. Lassi was very refreshing and good. Owner is friendly and comes by for a chat. Nice personal touch. Had rotis and gatte ki sabji. Food was good. Would def recommend.

“Delcious food at KB Café” customers Kb Lodge
Yvonneandkeith – Maidstone – UK – January 2020

We stayed in KB lodge and although we normally like to try different restaurants when travelling, the food was so good in the restaurant KB Cafe that we ate there each night of our three night stay. The menu had good choice without being too long and all dishes that we tried were delicious and full of flavour. The desert beans dish and other local dishes were all lovely. I will be asking for recipes to try now I am back home in the UK! Vicky and all the staff were helpful and welcoming and explained the dishes we chose.

The staff is very nice, great view of the fort and the food is very good.
The baingain masala is soooo delicious.

“Don’t miss it!” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Robertjoosth – Bussum – Netherlands – February 2019

Tourist trap-restaurants all over in Jaisalmer, unfortunately. So we were so lucky to find KB Café and Restaurant behind a modest sign on a modest square on walking distance (10 min) or 80 rupee by tuctuc from the touristcrowded Fort.
On the rooftopterrace Vicky and his crew offered a perfect team to serve us genuine indian food. With great patience he explained all the dishes, and adviced us in fluent english on spice etc.
In our four days-stay we had two great dinners and one superb lunch at KB; like Vicky said: ‘of course it is nice for us to have guests in our restaurant, but it is an honour for us when they return the next days’. The honour was well deserved!

“Best Thali!” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Jow261 – Petworth – UK – february 2019

My wife and I were recommended KB Cafe and were not disappointed. I ordered the Jaiselmer Thali which was the best I’ve eaten in India – the spinach and cheese is absolutely delicious and the chapatis just kept coming. My wife ordered the vegetable biryani which was equally good. Having eaten the previous day in our hotel the bill was almost equivalent to the hotel’s service charge!

“Top location, friendly service, delicious food” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
February 2019

What a location, right in the heart of town! I had booked a triple room for me and my 2 teenage nieces but manager Vicky said it would be a bit cramped and instead gave us 2 lovely adjoining rooms at no extra cost. We felt like we had our own wing and the rooms had big window seats facing the gorgeous facade of Patwon Haveli opposite. We ate on the rooftop restaurant, rugged up in many layers of clothing on our 2 chilly winter mornings. The view of the fort is spectacular and the food is delicious. We became addicted to aloo jeera! KB Lodge is relaxed and comfy and we were able to walk up to the fort. We all loved it.

“K. B. Lodge just fantastic” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
February 2019

We stayed at the sister property to the hotel Killa Bhawan, called K. B. Lodge, outside the fort, opposite the Patwa Haveli. Same gracious hosts operate both. The nice thing about the K.B. Lodge is that it has an excellent rooftop restaurant. It is also very centrally located. The room was very comfortable, clean. But it is really the hosts who make this property special. They went out of their way to help arrange things for us, and they did it with such warmth and friendliness. It was one of our best hotel stays ever. I would highly recommend the lodge. We also had a tea at the hotel Killa Bhawan–lovely setting.

“Best meal we’ve had in Jaisalmer” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Sandrapx321 – Canberra – Australia

This restaurant overlooks the Museum / Haveli and the Fort. It is very clean, beautifully decorated and the owner and staff provide great service. The Ker Sangri (desert bean dish) and okra dishes were fantastic! Highly recommended.

“Jaisalmer’s best value hotel” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Jamesjarman- London – December 2018

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Our room was great value – large, clean and tastefully decorated. Vicky and his team were welcoming and always waiting with cold mineral water without us having to ask. They helped book a great camel safari, one of the highlights of our trip, didn’t try to push anything on us but gave some great recommendations for Jaisalmer food and activities. The place has real character and breakfast on the terrace was lovely. We were served free tea all day and even invited to the main killer bhawan hotel for free tea right by the fort in spectacular surroundings. Wish all our hotels in Rajasthan were like this one.

“Lovely Place with Great Food” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Andreinklv – Paris – December 2018

The KB roof top and the restaurant are very nice. The view, the food and the atmosphere are perfect. We 100% recommend to take time to have a lunch, dinner or more at KB !
Furthermore, the fort is very close and the lake as well.
Enjoy !

“Great Thali” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Ian-and-Sue21 – spilsby – UK – December 2018

Lovely food, try the Thali….it’s the best in Jaisalmer. We ate here in the evening and they made us feel very welcome. Give them a try, it’s definitely worth it.

“Friendly excellent value place to stay in central down town Jaisalmer” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Gavin M – November 2018

My wife & I loved our stay at KB Lodge. The extended family owners take real care of you – including when you drop into the lovely sister hotel Killa Bhawan located up in the Fort. The food is excellent – and very reasonably priced (much better quality, and much less expensive than the food at the Trio Restaurant). The family’s shop – located a few yards away from KB Lodge is full of well-designed clothes and accessories – again lovely and reasonably-priced.
Room Tip: Best not to get a room that overlooks the square – which can get a little noisy.

“Central and Stylish” Customers Killa Bhawan Hotel Jaisalmer
Jet35840311456 – November 2018

We had one night at this comfortable convenient guest house. Room was small but nicely decorated, and showed an awareness of what westerners want…good linen, bedside lighting, a little bit of style even in the budget to mid rate. Great host and staff and a good location for exploring central Jaisalmer.

“One of the best THALI”customers Kb Lodge
Mihir0410 – India – November 2018

Nice place to try Rajasthani food. We tried there Rajasthani Thali and it was by far the best Rajasthani food we had.
The KHADI Was awesome.
Must to visit when visiting the Havelis in Jaisalmer

“GREAT VIEW, tasty food, friendly staff, best Indian coffee”customers Kb Lodge
Bradpetaluma – California – USA – November 2018

You can’t miss here. They have it all. Hidden gem across from Patwa Havali taxi lot. Worst part is the climb up 4 flights of stairs. The food is tasty and reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful with your food requests. They may be a bit slow, but the view and food is worth the delay.
Definitely a must stop spot.

“Great place to stay in Jaisalmer”customers Kb Lodge
Shanny G – 7th October 2018

Highly highly recommended , perfect place to stay in J’aislamer, great location- one minute from patwa haveli and 10 minute walk from the fort. The room was very stylish, clean and big , the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel has an amazing roof top with view to the fort. A special romantic place to relax drink and eat. The staff are very friendly , and assist very quickly with every thing we needed. The hotel offers a delicious complimentary breakfast as well as tea and coffee , and are very flexible with the hours. it felt as if the hotels main and genuine purpose is to really let the guests feel as comfortable and happy as possible and are willing to do everything possible to make that happen.

“good food with some great views”customers Kb Lodge

The food was served fresh and was very delicious comparing to all the restaurants we’ve been before here.
And including that view , that was a great experience !!

Nanda Samvida – Mumbai – India – April 2017

the cafe is beautiful! with a fabulous view facing both the Patwa Haveli and the Jaisalmer Fort!
we had one of the best thalis of my life here. My partner and I came for some work, and it felt more like a romantic getaway! the rooms in KB Lodge have beautiful robes for the guests! and the people are so warm and friendly, they make you feel a part of their family!
A MUST VISIT! (have the thali for sure! and order a cheese and tomato omlette! )

“Fantastic rooftop café !”  killa bhawan trip advisor ratings
Cazwaz2016 – London – March 2017

Lovely rooftop cafe and a welcome place to escape from the heat and hubbub of the street below. We had both types of thalis, which were excellent value. The owner is very friendly and the toilet was clean, which is a rare thing! Would definitely recommend it.

“KB Café very nice”  killa bhawan trip advisor ratings
Laurie C – New York – March 2017

We spied this rooftop restaurant from the Patwa Haveli and visited for lunch. Nice views and friendly service. Very helpful staff. We opted for non-Indian cuisine and both the omelet and grilled cheese sandwich were excellent. Fantastic French fries.

“A perfect stop for a fine lunch and great view”  killa bhawan trip advisor ratings
Swaen – Ostend – Belgium January 2017

Thanks to our guide Prakash, we found this nice place to have our meal, during our day in Jaisalmer which was wonderful. This terrace offers a great view in the middle of the center and has also very fine food. We had the Thali and were very happy with it. Service and atmosphere were perfect too, certainly a place to recommend !

““Nice rooftop resto”  killa bhawan trip advisor ratings
Cecilehelene – Columbia, SC – USA – Stayed January 2017

Beautiful views, nicely furnished and excellent service. This restaurant is on the rooftop of a restored haveli and offers a range of light meals in pleasant surroundings, including cushioned benches overlooking the city and fort. The food was fresh and well prepared and the coffee decent. The manager is pleasant and friendly. It’s a place to bring a book and stay out of the fray for a while. Also, there is a boutique next door run by the family which stocks high quality clothing, scarves and jewellery much of it designed by Italian and French designers and made locally to good standards. Definitely worth a visit.

“CRAZY GOOD!” Customers Killa Bhawan
Vivek K – January 2017

Saw this place while visiting pattwon ki haveli. It turned out to be quite epic and we ended up staying way too longer. Their terrace is awesome and you can actually get a clear view of the fort from the top most terrace. Staff is great. They also had some great rooms to offer. Cheers to the team.

“If you are looking for home and homely people” Customers Killa Bhawan
Sandeep Chaudhary – Bombay – India – December 2016

We were lucky to spent two nights at KB Lodge. Bharat and Bhanu, brothers and owners are exceptionally warm and hospitable. I can say that they are good friends now and we will remain in touch. NIcely done rooms, that are comfortable, cozy. Do not miss the incredible view and the the ethnic Jaisalmer and Marwari thali at KB Cafe. By far the best meal I had in my ten day trip across Rajasthan. If you like homestays, you can’t find a better place. We’r definitely coming back to KB Lodge and I hope they keep it affordable and available. Thank you Bharat and Bhanu!

Room Tip: Go with an open mind and you will find whatever you are looking for.

“Best Café !” Customers Killa Bhawan
Trip Advisor member – December 2016

If you want to enjoy good food with excellent view. This place is a must visit. Try marwari thali if you want to have good Rajasthani food – Ker sangri, gatte ki sabji, mutter paneer, n much more with excellent hospitality!

“Has it all: great food, view, services !” Customers Killa Bhawan
John M – December 2016

Came here on a recommendation from a tour guide. Had chai and thalis, and the food was incredible. We’re guessing they use some extra butter in their recipes. The rooftop has a great view of both the fort and the Havelis. The bottled waste was cold. Service was great. Got help with directions and finding a rickshaw after our meal.

“Beautiful spot for a light meal” Customers Killa Bhawan
Bert C. – London – November 2016

We stopped here for a drink, came back for lunch and will go back tomorrow for breakfast. This is a lovely terrace overlooking the havelis and a short walk from the fort entrance. Located on a very pretty square and in one of the more picturesque parts of Jaiselmer, this is well worth seeking out for a. It of down time during your trip. Really lovely spot with a continental vibe.

“Wonderful vegetarian food……. ” Customers Killa Bhawan
Lavanya K November 2016

We caught sight of this quaint restaurant while on the rooftop of an amazing attraction called Patwon Haveli, and decided to stop by for tea. Very good ginger tea with honey and penne pesto pasta. My husband had a Rajasthani thali that he loved.

The wonderful cafe owners also gave us great travel advice (to visit the Gadisar lake to observe a local festival) and even showed us around their beautifully designed lodge, bookstore and artisan shop with locally made products. Absolutely lovely. Happy to have stumbled across this place.

“Excellent Food” Customers Killa Bhawan

Be sure to try the pan fried tomato and spring onion.
Very nice rooftop cafe with views of the fort and Patwa Haveli.

“beautiful view & Clean Kitchen !” Customers Killa Bhawan
937aleks – Simferopol – November 2016
